What an amazing day we had for today’s 3rd Annual Luray Earth Day on the Greenway 5K and 1K races!

Are you ready for race day?!? Here’s what you need to know for the event:
Schedule of Events: Earth Day 5K/1K on Saturday, April 20th
7: 30 am-8:30 am New registration (you will NOT be able to register after 8:30.)
7:30 am-8:45 am 5K/1K Packet pickup (for those who have preregistered)
7:30-10:00 New registration for 1K
7:30-10:15 1K Packet Pickup
8:45 am Safety briefing and course information
9:00 am 5K run/walk begins
10:30 am 1K run/walk begins
10:45 am Raffle prizes
11:00 am Awards
All events start and finish on the Greenway near Mechanic Street (in the Farmers Market area.) There is parking available in the Mechanic Street Parking lot and at Ruffner Plaza.
For the 5K, awards will be given out to the overall Male and Female finishers and to the top three Male/Female finishers in the following categories: 14 and under; 15-24; 25-34; 35-44; 45-54; 55 and over. For the 1K, awards will be given out to the top Male and Female finishers. All 1K participants will also receive a special “medal” to commemorate the event.
NEW THIS YEAR: you will be able to tie-dye your Earth Day race t-shirt for free at the event! Just take your shirt to the tie-dye booth and one of our volunteers will help you with the tie-dyeing.
